BIOGRAPHY

Physicist turned music and film Producer, Pyrame’s emergence into the electronic music scene is a story of wanderlust, dream catching and cosmic energy. A poet at heart, he takes the opportunity to create raw emotion through both his melodies and lyrics, when if you listen closely, are inspired by his endless adventures of the world around him.
Combining elements of synth-pop, post-disco and progressive electronica, his DJ affair of building both his sound and his label contains a touch of surrealism, heritage and fantasy, as his inspiration is pulled from the twists and turns of Greek Mythology. His label, appropriately named Thisbe Recordings, comes from the myth of “Pyramus and Thisbe” which are most well known as the couple of ill-fated lovers by the ancient poet Ovid.

Being influenced heavily by new wave, metal and grunge growing up, his evolving taste and wanderlust saw him later inspired by the likes of LDC Soundsystem, Joy Division, and so many more. Connected to both classical and electronic music throughout the years, and having dabbled in bands from a young age, Pyrame felt it was finally the time to put his passion for music first.

Releasing his debut EP “A Fine Life” in 2019, Pyrame has already matured in his sound so much. After “A Fine Life”, a blend of synthpop and cosmic electropop, his second EP, "The Pace of Everything That Lives" provides a darker and more electro tone to his music, drifting into a more techno universe too.

His third EP “Electronica Melancholia”, a piece composed for his newly-born son was released via Thisbe Recordings in October 2022.

Out of it, has emerged a 3-remixes package of the single “So Sprach Psychedelia”, out on the 17th of February 2023 via Thisbe Recordings, featuring some of Pyrame´s favorite artists, in the name of Rodion, Skelesys and Volta Cab aka Rambal Cochet.

In September 2023, Pyrame releases his fourth EP called “Senses High”, telling a story as long as the history of mankind : that of desire, sensuality, and mutual attraction.

Senses High EP ( 2023 )

Senses High

In Senses High, Pyrame approches a theme as old as mankind : the history of desire, sensuality and mutual attaction .

__

Only you

can make

my senses

so high

Only you

can make

my senses

so high

Only you

can get

my senses

so high

Only you

can get

me out of

my mind

Only you

can make

my senses

so high

Only you

can bring

my senses

so high

Only you

can get

my senses

so high

Only you

can get

me out of

my mind

Stranger Than Me

__

I remembered those days where you used to smile at me

Those days are unforgettable

How could they be?

You used to wear those light clothes

that I found so pretty on you...

So pretty

So pretty

So pretty

So pretty

Those first seconds,

Minutes

I could not take my eyes off you

And when the night came

I felt like we should carry on

Spending our time together

Time together

Time together

Time together

Together

You made me cry

It felt so right

Are you really

Stranger than me?

Now you are here with me

There is no time to waste

Basic instinct

Your desire is as strong as mine

My fingers

Your mouth

Your lips

My tongue

My fingers

Your mouth

Your lips

My tongue

We are so in synch

The Pace of Everything that Lives EP ( 2020 )

Colours ( à l´infini )

In Colours (à l’infini), Pyrame explores the theme of love, declaring it with a song about life being more colorful when being with the right one.

__

“We need green and blue
Orange and yellow too
We need colours

Something’s unique in you
Through space and time we do
Travel

You are different
You are so pure
You diffract from the norm
You are the flow

We need green and blue
Orange and yellow too
We need colours

Something I need from you
You’ve got to take through
The channel

You’re inside my system
You’re inside my system
You’re inside my system
You’re inside

Colours
A l’infini, A l’infini, A l’infini

No more grey day
I can’t do this without you
Show me everything
I want to know everything

Take me with you
Show me the way
Through the prism
The prism”

The Fine Line Between Us

The Fine Line Between Us sends a message of positivism when it comes to relationships, a message of acceptance of the others, while knowing we are all different and unique individuals.

__

“What are you talking about?
What….what are you talking about?
I am talking about the fine line between us
The fine line
The fine line
The fine line
I am talking about the fine line between us
The fine line
The fine line
The fine line, between us

What are you talking about?
I am talking about the fine line between us
Do you mean…our differences?
Do you mind?
I think, we should give it a try

Let’s give it a try
Let’s give it a try
Let’s give it a try
Let’s give it a try
Let’s give it a try
Let’s give it a try
Let’s give it a try
Let’s give it a try
Let’s give it a try
Let’s give it a try
Let’s give it a try
Let’s give it a try”

The Pace of Everything that Lives

The Pace of Everything that Lives puts in perspective two fundamental – and antagonist – aspects inherent to life. One which we tend to have control on, the other not. On the one-hand, as human beings, we often question the reasons why we are in this world, if we are ever going to know whether we do/did the right things , as well as wondering about the way we lead our own lives. On the other hand, there is the time that goes by, inexorably, one heartbeat at a time, and on which we do not have control. That time is limited for us: we live, and one day, time is up. Will we ever know if we did the right things?

__

“We used to hear in stereo
Those sounds that resonate
Within
We thought the stream of waves
Will go on
For another while

And then silence
The beat is gone

Will we ever know
If we got it right ?
Will we ever know
If we did the right thing ?

It was a sign

It was a sign

It was a sign
Of the time that goes by

We will never know
If we got it right
We will never know
If we did the right thing

This must be the pace
It can only be the pace
This must be the pace
It can only be the pace
It can only be the pace”

Drifting off the Grid

Drifting off the Grid is all about freedom, and the awareness that drifting “outside of the box” - or ”off-the-grid” - is one way to go in order to set yourself free.

__

“Some rivers never end
But where do they begin?
Is there any other way

Then by drifting off the grid”

A Fine Life EP ( 2019 )

Platonic

Platonic highlights the fine line that exists between the ability to live a reality and the wish, conscious or subconscious, to stay away from it and fancying it instead.
As such, the song addresses the very actual – or not so actual? – issue of having choices but not being able, or willing, to take decisions and to move forward.

__

“You come across, I look at you, there is light all around
Is something going on?

You stare at me, the dream is real, it’s not an illusion
Something is going on

For sure

Time-stop, we wish this moment lasted for eternity
And it is happening now

Both wonder how this could feel so much like reality
(n’ we are not) on television now

And it’s going on and on and on and on
Feels like it’s going on and on and on and on

As time goes by, we realized it was a fantasy
Simply just fantasy

We both got scared to lose our supreme autonomy
Our minds got overwhelmed

Too bad

Imagination’s sometimes better than reality
And we have tried it now

It made no sense believing in some sort of destiny
Things are platonic now

And now it’s gone and gone and gone and gone and gone
Everything’s gone and gone and gone and gone and gone

(4x)

Where are we now?

Where are we now? relates a typical issue of our times: two people won’t necessarily spend much time in the same place, before moving away from each other. This poses new issues and challenges in a relationship compared to how things would have unfolded not so long ago.
The song also evidences the fact that verbal communication is indeed just one way among many others, to express our feelings to each other.

__

“Hello..?

Hey… it’s me…

Oh, hey…..it’s been a while…

I know…I’ve been thinking about you…

Ar..…are we ever gonna make it?

It depends….where are we now?”

A Fine Life

A Fine Life acknowledges the gift of life. As such, the right attitude towards our existence should not develop into something intrinsically negative but rather into the contemplation of its very beauty as a whole.

__

“It’s a fine life
It’s a fine life
It’s a fine life
It’s a fine life

Let the ride decide
Let the walk do the talk
Let the tide get you wild
Let the sound pace it all

Let the ride decide, it’s a fine life
Let the walk do the talk, it’s a fine life
Let the tide get you wild, it’s a fine life
Let the sound pace it all, it’s a fine life

It’s a fine life
(7x)

It’s a fine life
It’s a fine
It’s a fine life
It’s a fine life

(4x)

Losing Control

Losing Control is all about embracing our life, the only one we have, to the fullest.
It is meant to convey a message of self-acceptance and positivism. And why not going a little crazy, if this is meant to be…

__

“I can’t stop
You can’t stop
We can’t stop

I can’t stop
You can’t stop
We can’t stop, losing control

I can’t stop
You can’t stop
We can’t stop

I can’t stop
You can’t stop
We can’t stop, losing control

I can’t stop
You can’t stop
We can’t stop

I can’t stop
You can’t stop
We can’t stop

Losing control, losing control, losing control, I can’t stop
Losing control, losing control, losing control, you can’t stop
Losing control, losing control, losing control, we can’t stop
Losing control, losing control, losing control

I can’t stop
You can’t stop
We can’t stop, losing control

I can’t stop
You can’t stop
We can’t stop, losing control

I can’t stop
You can’t stop
We can’t stop, losing control

I can’t stop
You can’t stop
We can’t stop, losing control
